Praxis II Subject Assessments measure knowledge of specific subjects that K-12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge.

Individuals entering the teaching profession take the Praxis II tests as part of the teacher licensing and certification process required by the state of Alabama – and many others.

Praxis II tests are available in paper-delivered and computer-delivered formats. They are administered by an international network of test centers which includes Prometric test centers, some universities, and other locations throughout the world.

No, students are allowed to take a Praxis II Test as many times needed to obtain a passing score.

Praxis II tests are offered on a limited basis. It is imperative that students plan accordingly so that scores will be received by the Teacher Education Services Department prior to deadline for internship placement.

Fall Internship – Praxis II test scores must be received by July 31
Spring Internship – Praxis II test scores must be received by Dec. 1

11. Can I take my Praxis exams at Athens State University?

Yes. The University Testing Center located in Chasteen Hall (located on the corner of Hobbs Street and Clinton Street 2 blocks from the main campus).now administers the computerized Praxis exams. All students must register for any Praxis exam by visiting http://www.ets.org/praxis and entering the University’s site code of STN14800A.
