Former Alabama State Fiddle Champs

To win the title of "Alabama State Fiddle Champ", you first must be able to win the title of Senior or Junior Fiddler. Then comes the "Fiddle-Off", a showdown between flashing bow strings and talented musicians.

Congratulations to our 2014 Alabama StateFiddle Champ!

2014 Champ - Ross Holmes   Nashville, Tennessee fiddler Ross Holmes did more than fiddle around at the 48th annual Tennessee Valley Old Time Fiddlers Convention at Athens State University. The Nashville native collected this year’s Alabama State Fiddle Champ trophy and the $1,000 grand prize that came with it.

Holmes, the junior division winner, took the title by winning a traditional fiddle-off, which pits the top fiddlers in the junior and senior divisions. Roy Crawford of Cullman, Alabama finished runner-up.
